How do you wear it?

What kinds of pumps does everyone use? Which work best?

How do you wear it?

Postby Rainx on Sat Apr 26, 2008 12:26 am

So how does everyone wear their pump on a daily basis? I currently just clip it on a pocket or waistband. I find it annoying though with some clothes. Does anyone use a pump pack? Are there any other accessories out there?

Thanks!

I use a Minimed 715, and bought one of the leather wrap-around cases for it from Medtronic (after the pager-style clip broke). It's a great case if you wear a belt... and works pretty well to drop in a pocket too for that matter.

in high school i clipped it onto my pocket if my jeans were loose enough, if not just onto my waistband. i duct taped it to my back for one prom and stuck it in my bra for another. it was a daily decision.. "hmm...what shall i wear today? and where shall i stick my pump?"

another issue i dont mind not having anymore. :)

Thanks everyone! Abi...those packs are so cute! I think I will end up trying one out. Its with the slightly tighter clothes that I find I have a problem. I'm sure I'll get used to it soon tho.

Mine is a daily decision where to wear it too. There are somedays I just stick it in my pocket and other days I use my clip. I had a hard time trying to decide where to wear it when I used to cheer. I found out that when exercising or when wearing clothes that you really have no place to put it, I put it in my bra on the side kinda under my arm pit. No one really notices it and I got used to it. Thats the normal place I wear my pump now. You still get a few questions but not as many when it is hanging off of my side!

When I was using a Minimed, I liked to have a waist band to clip it to - so I mostly wore pants. Now that I'm on the Omnipod I put it on my lower back or back of my upper arms and can wear skirts, dresses, pants, shorts, whatever I want, without worrying about placement.

i am glad that you like your omni pod. i love the idea of no tubing but i just can't fathom having something that big directly on my skin! but when they can make it a little smaller i would be interested in it!

I always wear mine on my left side, so I usually clip it to either my left pants pocket or on the left side of my belt.

same here. the tubing gets caught on things but i wouldn't like the bulge of one right on my skin. i wear my pump in a cell phone case clipped to my side or in my pocket mostly. w/ dresses, i wear it in my bra. my mawmaw added a puch to it it that i can put my pump in, that isn't noticeable.
