Something to consider...
For those of us who don't eat amounts of carbs according to exact dosages (ex. eating 13 g. so you can take a whole unit), which is most of us, check this out.
When dosing insulin with syringes, you have to go by the gauged units. If on a pump, you can dose up to 0.05 units. With my omnipod, for example, if I eat 23 carbs, and my ratio is 1 unit per 7 carbs, my omnipod will automatically dose me 3.25 units based on my target blood sugar and the carbs I punch into it. If my sugar is higher, it will account similarly for my correction ratio.
If you want tighter control, this is a major factor that will help you if you go on a pump, especially the omnipod or one that doses up to 0.05
